About
Dr Emily Corbett is an early career researcher with expertise in children’s and young adult literature. She is an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Young Adult Literature and Vice President of the YA Studies Association. Emily has published her own peer-reviewed academic research. She has also taught children’s literature studies and YA studies on undergraduate and postgraduate courses at multiple universities, including the University of East Anglia, the University of Roehampton, and the University of Bedfordshire.
Emily specialises in young adult literature, especially twenty-first-century texts and their paratextual materials. Her doctoral thesis investigated the emergence and growth of transgender young adult literature. She is also collaborating with Dr Alison Waller to develop a national reading scheme for teenagers that explores ideas of ordinariness through contemporary British YA.
